1. Inspect The Privacy And Security Settings

Right-click the Start icon and then go to settings.

  • You will find various options on the left side. Go to Privacy and Security.
  • Click on Privacy and Security.
  • Scroll down, and you will find app permissions.
  • You have to click the microphone.
  • You need to look carefully, i.e. whichever applications you need to use should have the access permission turned on. For example, if you use Skype, then you need to turn on the access.
  • Close it and then see whether you have fixed the issue.

2. Inspect Control Panel

  • You need to click on the search button and type control panel. The moment you do it, you will find the control panel app.
  • Click on the control panel app.
  • A new window of adjust your computer settings will come.
  • You need to set the view by large icons.
  • Once you do it, you need to click on the sound.
  • A new window will appear. Look for your microphone. You need to right-click on it and then set it as default.
  • Now, double-click on your microphone. A new window will appear. Go to levels. You need to set the pointer of the audio output to the extreme right side. You can then click on OK.
  • Now, do the same procedure on the recording. Look for your microphone and then set it as default. You can then double-click on it , go to levels and set the microphone to the maximum. Click apply and OK.

3. Inspect Troubleshoot Settings

  • Click on the search icon and type Troubleshoot.
  • You will find troubleshooting settings.
  • Click on it.
  • It will redirect to a page where you will find additional troubleshooters. You need to click on it.
  • You will find a lot of options. The most frequent troubleshooter is playing audio, recording audio and video playback. You can run them to solve the issue.
